Keyless Entry System

Keyless access systems are a good way to secure your rental property without physical keys. These systems allow guests and tenants to enter the building with an entry code, or using their smartphones. These systems can be used with intercoms that allow video and audio communications. This provides people with multiple ways to gain access to a building. Certain keyless entry systems run on cloud and can be managed remotely, and also offer more advanced features.

A keyless entry system can be installed on any commercial or residential property. First, the hardware has to be installed at every entryway. The system then needs to be controlled and configured via central consoles or an app for smartphones. Keyless entry systems in the global market is expected to expand at a CAGR of 11.8 percent between 2016 and 2022 according to Technavio. The growth in the market is due to the increasing demand for security systems in commercial vehicles.

Many people are afraid of being locked out of their homes. Therefore, they usually keep an extra key in a safe spot. This poses a significant security risk, as criminals know where they keep their keys and are able to easily find the keys. Installing a keyless entry system at your residence is the best way to prevent this. This will prevent you from ever being locked out of your house again.

Transponder Chip

The transponder, or "chip key", is a micro-chip that is embedded in the head portion of your car keys. It's among the most important security layers for your vehicle. The word transponder comes from the combination transmitter and responder. This is because, after the key has been fitted into the ignition and the key turned to turn, the antenna in your car transmits radio frequency energy to a transponder chip. The chip responds with its unique identification code to the antenna ring, and the car's computer can then discern that code and determine whether or not it's a valid key.

The key must be a transponder key to start the car. If it is not, then the vehicle will be immobilized. The chip is secured with a special layer of polycarbonate which prevents it from being copied or duplicated by regular mechanical keys. Beishir Lock and Security carries a wide assortment of transponder keys at less than the price of car dealerships.

Transponder chips started to become popular in the 80's when GM introduced them in the Corvette. This technology dramatically decreased vehicle thefts as it made hot-wiring obsolete in the past. This is the simplest explanation of the chip key. If you have any more questions, do not hesitate to contact us.

Immobiliser System

The engine immobiliser (also called the anti-theft system) is a key element of your vehicle's security. When you insert your key into the ignition switch or Smart Key fob, the transponder chip inside will send an encoded code to the vehicle's Electronic Control Unit (ECU). The ECU confirms that the code sent by the chip matches the code stored in it and then permits the engine to begin.

Your car's immobiliser is designed to guard against theft in this manner. If the code inside the chip doesn't match it, the ECU blocks the flow of current to the fuel pump relay as well as the injection system, keeping the engine from beginning. The immobiliser might also disable the starter motor or ignition coil in order to prevent the engine from being started by force.

Unfortunately this system isn't impervious to hacks. Thieves could crack the code that allows you to unlock the car's immobiliser system, and allow it to start. The latest versions of the system use more cryptographic codes that will make it difficult to determine.

Since 1998 Immobilisers for cars are now required since 1998. However, many vehicles already had rudimentary systems installed. While immobilisers make it more difficult for thieves to steal a vehicle it doesn't stop thieves from towing your vehicle away or breaking into to steal your belongings.

Key Replacement

Losing a remote, key or fob could be costly and a hassle. A locksmith must gain access to the vehicle, decode the VIN or run it, and then reprogram the replacement key to erase any signatures from the computer for keys that have been stolen or lost.

If  replacement key fiat 500  comes with an integrated security chip, also known as a transponder, in the key, this will make a replacement much more costly. These chips send signals to the car that verifies your identity as the driver, and permits the doors to be opened or the engine to start. The cost of an additional smart key is about $160.

ABUS strongly suggests that you register your key code shortly after purchase to enable you to purchase additional keys or spare keys in the future.
